I would want to be Atticus in the movie version. He educates Jem and Scout to be morally upright and is a good example himself. He displays physical courage and is the symbol of justice in the novel He taught the children to not discriminate against others with different skin colours,he does this by employing a black maid,Calpurnia, and even allows Calpurnia to take the children to a black church, where the whites were the minority. He does not discriminate against blacks, this could be seen when he tries his best to defend Tom Robinson, who is a black in a law suit against him, accusing him of rape and assault. He fights against and all white jury who believe in the stereotype that all blacks are evil.Although Atticus showed that Tom was innocent in court,Tom was still jailed due to the racial discrimination by the jury. In conclusion, I would like to be Atticus because of the many interesting scenes in the novel.
